For new homeowners to take advantage of the $8,000 tax credit for first time homebuyers. To receive the credit, the property must close before December 1st, 2009. Hopefully, the credit period will be extended but we cannot say for sure right now.

To qualify for the credit, you must not have owned a home in the last 3 years. This is just a reminder for people who have been thinking heavily about purchasing a home and taking advantage of the credit. It is not uncommon for a property to take over a month to close.

Thanks for stopping by. Of course, give me a call if I can help you with your decision whether to buy a home.

The real estate market has indeed been the focus of much negative media coverage lately. Many homes have foreclosed and many builders are at a halt, unable to sell any of their inventory. People are afraid to take action in the real estate market and that makes sense. This is not a good time to be selling your home.

However, this is great news for buyers. If you have been thinking about purchasing a home for yourself or as an investment property, this is the time to do it. The market is flooded, inventory is great, interest rates are good. The great deals are being cut right now while the majority are uneasy about the market. Basically, everything is on sale and everything is negotiable.

If you have been renting for years and feel like you want to make a move on buying a good affordable starter home, let me know. I feel very positive about the future of the Rome area and I believe that making an investment in the area is a wise move, especially under the current market conditions.

Like always, feel free to give me a call and together we’ll find you what you’re looking for. My cell phone number is (706) 767-1659. Also, please feel free to comment on these blog entries. I would love to hear your feedback.

Thanks, Bryan
